Do you accept new clients?
Yes! I’m currently taking on new clients.
Which locations do you work with?
Even though most of my work is done remotely over the phone, email and zoom, I mainly work with clients in Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, and the Hunter region. I prefer to focus on the local area, as I believe there are excellent accountants all over Australia.
That said, I do make exceptions for existing clients who move, as well as their family and friends who live elsewhere.
Do you do individual tax returns?
Yes, however, if it is a simple tax return with employment income and some work-related deductions, I would recommend doing it yourself through myGov.
How much do you charge for meetings and phone calls?
There is no charge for initial discovery meetings where we discuss your business needs and see if we could be the right fit. I charge $250 for a standalone business consultation.
Do you offer after-hours appointments?
I offer flexible appointment times, including evenings and limited weekend appointments, via Zoom or over the phone, but not face-to-face.
Do you provide SMSF services?
Not at the moment.
Do you offer bookkeeping?
Not really. I prefer to focus on BAS and tax compliance, business planning, and advice. There are two options:
- You do your own bookkeeping — I can help with training and answer questions as needed
- You engage an external bookkeeper — there are several really good ones in this area
Do you outsource any work overseas?
No, I prefer to do everything myself with a help of a local bookkeeper.
Can you deal with the ATO on my behalf?
Yes. As your registered tax agent, I can communicate directly with the ATO on your behalf, including handling queries, notices, and payment plans.
Why isn’t it obvious that I’ve called an accounting firm when I ring the number on this website?
I like to keep things simple and straightforward, so I use my personal phone number for work. I don’t have a receptionist or automated phone system. When you call, I’ll usually answer with a friendly “Hello, this is Anya,” and you’ll be speaking directly with me from the start. If I don’t answer please leave a message and I’ll call you back.
