About Me

I was born in Riga, Latvia — a small country in the Baltics, and not quite as cold as people often imagine (although, in all honesty, I’ve never been as cold in my life as I was during my first winter in Australia. Has anyone here heard of insulation and double glazing?) I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration at the University of Latvia. Numbers and structure came naturally to me early on, and that interest quietly followed me wherever life took me next.

That next chapter was Scotland. I moved there and quickly fell in love with the dramatic landscapes, deep history, and slower pace of life. While living in Scotland, I completed a Diploma of Accounting at Motherwell College, further grounding my practical accounting skills.

Australia eventually became home. While raising a young family, I completed another Diploma of Accounting and continued building hands-on experience in finance and accounting roles.

I went on to work as a Finance Officer at a Salvation Army Social Centre. Alongside this role, I started running a small bookkeeping business on the side. What began as a way to help people and keep my skills sharp quickly turned into something more — I realised I genuinely enjoyed the work and had a natural ability to bring order and clarity to messy financial situations.

That realisation led me into public practice. I moved into accounting full-time and joined Jayborough Accountants, where I also began studying to become a Chartered Accountant. I later worked at Finbiz Accountants, where I was part of a fantastic team. A special shout-out to Annette, who truly made everyone feel welcome and supported. I have since completed my Chartered Accountant qualification.

After a few years, it felt like the right time for a change. Running my own accounting practice allows me to focus on the work I enjoy, while also making time for travel, camping, and family life with my husband and three boys — who keep things lively, to say the least.

Today, I work closely with small businesses and individuals who value clear advice, practical solutions, and a personal, down-to-earth approach.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, walking the dog, and occasionally playing chess — although I’m far more consistent with spreadsheets than checkmates.
